A : → A Certificate of Origin is a document used to verify the country of origin of the item being exported, while a Form A Certificate of Origin is used to support certain Hong Kong products to claim for preferential tariff entry into a number of developed countries under the Generalised Systems of Preferences (GSP). Hong Kong is a beneficiary under the Generalised Systems of Preferences Scheme operated by Canada, Japan and Norway. China remains a beneficiary of the GSP in the European Union while Hong Kong is already excluded from this preference since 1998. For details please click here.
Q : → What's the difference between the Form A & Certificate of Origin? Can we say that GSP Form A enjoys some duty free or reduction in EU countries, but C.O. has not this advantage? C.O. just declares that the goods are made in China/HK?
