Q : → I would like to export furniture to Saudi Arabia, but I don't have any idea on business. What is custom clearance requirement? Do we pass safety standard or get certificate?

A : → Since joining the WTO in 2005, 85% of Saudi Arabia's import tariff have been lowered to 5% or less. However, some products remain restricted from entering Saudi Arabia for religious, health or security reasons. In addition, foreign companies that are deemed to support Israel in one way or another are blacklisted because of the Arab League boycott of Israel, to which Saudi Arabia is a participant. Imports of furniture into the country should present no special requirements. Usual trade documents are necessary for customs declaration purposes. These include commercial invoice, bill of lading, certificate of origin, packing list etc.
