Write them a friendly and professional email asking them if they are currently importing products from overseas and would they consider working with your factory. Of course, you need to introduce your factory and have a good website setup covering the factory and your products.One special point I would like to make here is that many Chinese factories send out emails like this with incorrect English grammar, spelling, or writing style (I receive 5 per day!). This is a BIG mistake that you should try your best to avoid. Get a NATIVE English speaker to help you draft your emails and English website content. Make sure they are a native English speaker as well as experienced in business. Your classmate who majored in International Trade and English at "University of Shenzhen" probably speaks good English compared to many of his friends, but I can assure you, his English is not good enough

A : → Another option would be to visit the decorations trade show in Las Vegas. You can walk around the show, get a feeling for what is being sold, and also hand out a few business cards to companies that look like big wholesalers/distributors. But keep in mind that you should be very low-key when doing this, as some sellers get very annoyed when people try to market services to them during a show (they are paying a lot of money to rent that show exhibit space, so their goal is to SELL not to BUY). Also the show organizers don't like this either. Anyways, the most important thing is to look around the show, get the show catalog that lists the names of all the exhibitors, and then try sending some emails when you get back to China. thomas at innovatize.com
