A : → The Trade and Industry Department has operated the Textiles Traders Registration Scheme whereby the traders register under it are exempted, during the validity of their registration, from licensing requirement in respect of their textiles import and export. The traders are obliged under the scheme to submit notifications of particulars of their consignments to the Department. Q : → We know that there is a licensing requirement for all import and export of textiles and clothing in Hong Kong for the purpose of surveillance and quota restrictions. As we are only importing some textiles such as towels and piece goods for sales in the local market, would such licensing requirement be waived or be replaced by something else?
