A : → Import into China directly from Europe or via Hong Kong is subject to the same requirement of documents and quarantine controls. Also duties and taxes to be levied would also be similar for the same kinds of merchandise. Re-export of goods to China via Hong Kong trading companies should incur more fees and transport expenses than shipping directly from producer in Europe. However it would be more convenient for China buyers to deal with the suppliers in Hong Kong rather than dealing with suppliers in Europe directly in the first instances.

Q : → Hi, which way is easier to export spices (in bulk) to china, directly from Europe to China or from Hong Kong to China? I have heard China is very strict of importing food. I am also wondering why some companies in China prefer to order from HK large quantities instead of from Europe directly (whole sale price is much cheaper)? Is there any hidden problem?
