Find some good sourcing agents in China and sign an agreement with them to receive 1-2% of the first year sales value that they transact with the buyers you introduce. Weaknesses: They will probably not pay you this commission or at very least, they will "accidentally" underpay you. Also, they may screw up the business, in which case, you make little or no commission plus they damage your reputation since you were the one who introduced them to the buyer.2. Pretend to act as the sourcing agent yourself, but then "back to back" all of this work with an agent in China that will do all the “real work”. In effect, you will just be a communication conduit. You would charge the buyer a 5% commission for this, and then offer the working agent in China a 3-4% commission (i.e. you would net 1-2% of the sales value). Weakness: It works well, but eventually your client will gradually figure out that you are nothing but a communication conduit. They may try to bypass

I am the one that other designers and engineers call when they need sourcing suggestions for their clients. I would like to know what I need to do and learn to expand my sourcing assistance into becoming a revenue stream.
